Viglence in the Pond

I am Arn from  Never Fall Down

I am sharp and quick witted

I wonder if the war will ever reach us

I hear the sound of  dropping bombs

I see the flash of light as they fall

I want this war to end

I am protective and vigilant

I pretend to be a part of the pond

I feel the cool of the water

I touch the lily pad on my head

I worry that my brother will catch cold

I cry out that we have no home

I am protective and vigilant

I understand the pain of loss

I say to my brother it is ok

I dream of better days

I try to stay strong

I hope it will be over soon
